Hladnokrvno ubojstvo

Truman Capote počeo je pisati "Hladnokrvno ubojstvo" kad je 1959. godine u novinama pročitao članak o ubojstvu četveročlane obitelji u Kanzasu. Uslijedilo je šest godina istraživanja, razgovora s ubojicama, poznanicima obitelji i policijom, da bi tzv. nefikcionalni roman bio objavljen u siječnju 1966. godine. Počinitelji monstruoznog zločina Dick Hickock i Perry Smith pogubljeni su godinu dana prije toga.
Iako je javnost znala gotovo sve o zločinu i istrazi, roman "Hladnokrvno ubojstvo" sjajno su prihvatile i publika i kritika, što je potvrdilo Capoteov status velikog autora.
